1Agreeing to these terms

Using this site, submitting a form, signing a document we send, or paying an invoice means you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the site — and talk to the Treasurer, because there is usually another way to accomplish what you need.

Where these terms and a signed Lease Agreement disagree, the Lease Agreement governs. It is the actual contract; this page describes the website around it.

2What this site is

This site is published by Beta Kappa Housing Corporation, the House Corporation of the Beta Kappa Chapter of Sigma Chi at the University of Oklahoma. It is informational, plus a small number of things you can submit: a recruitment interest form, an alumni update, a photo submission, a contact message, and a sign-in for House Corporation officers.

Dues invoices and Lease Agreements are sent to you by email. They are not completed on these public pages.

3Dues and invoices

Members are billed for dues each semester. For the Fall 2026 pledge class, dues are $2,100. Invoices are emailed to the member and, where we hold one, to a parent. The obligation belongs to the member; a parent who pays is doing so voluntarily unless they have signed the Lease Agreement, in which case their obligation is whatever that document says.

Paying the full balance by bank transfer (ACH) earns a $100 credit, making the effective cost $2,000. Card payments are not eligible for that credit, because the saving comes from the lower processing cost of a bank transfer. For the current semester the Housing Corporation is absorbing transaction fees rather than passing them on.

An installment plan is available on request — three payments of $700. Ask the Treasurer before the first due date rather than after.

4Late payment

A late fee of $75 per month applies to any balance still unpaid after a 10-day grace period past the due date, and recurs monthly while the balance remains.

An account in arrears can affect initiation eligibility and standing in the chapter. If paying on time is a problem, say so before the due date — an installment plan agreed in advance costs nothing, and a missed payment costs $75 a month.

Persistently unpaid balances may be referred for collection. Section 3 of the Privacy Policy explains what identifying information the Housing Corporation holds for that purpose and how it is limited.

5Refunds and withdrawal

That said, we do not treat every departure the same way. If a member withdraws, depledges, leaves the university, or is removed, the Housing Corporation will consider a prorated refund on request, case by case, weighing when in the semester the departure happened and what costs had already been committed on that member's behalf.

Make the request in writing to the Treasurer, with the date and the circumstances. We will give you a decision and the reasoning behind it. A decision to prorate in one case does not set a rule for the next; the point of deciding case by case is that circumstances differ.

Amounts already paid are not held as a credit against a future semester unless we agree in writing that they are.

6The Lease Agreement

The Lease Agreement is sent for electronic signature and requires two signatures: the member's and a parent's or guardian's. Each party signs at their own email address. It is not in force until both have signed, so neither party should wait on the other.

An executed lease is required for initiation eligibility. Your electronic signature has the same effect as a signature in ink.

7Forms you submit

When you submit a form, tell the truth and use your own contact details. Do not enter somebody else's email or mobile number as if it were yours — a parent adding their own son is fine and expected; adding a friend to a mailing list is not.

Recruitment interest forms are exactly that. Submitting one does not create any offer, obligation, or expectation of a bid on either side.

8Acceptable use

Do not use this site to submit false information, impersonate anyone, harvest contact details, probe or interfere with the site or the board portal, or do anything unlawful.

The board portal is for House Corporation officers and the people they authorise. Do not share your sign-in, and tell us promptly if you think someone else has used it.

9Photographs and likeness

By attending chapter events, or by submitting photographs through this site, you agree that the Housing Corporation and the Chapter may use those images to show what the chapter does — on this website, in newsletters, in recruitment materials, and on chapter social media. No payment is owed for that use.

If you submit photographs, you confirm they are yours to submit and that the people in them would not object.

You may withdraw at any time. Tell us which image and we will remove it from anything we control, without asking why. We cannot claw back something already reshared by someone else, and we will not pretend otherwise. This applies to anyone who appears in a photograph, member or not.

10Trademarks and content

The Sigma Chi name, badge, coat of arms, and White Cross belong to Sigma Chi International Fraternity and are used by permission of the Fraternity as a chartered chapter. Nothing here grants you any right to use them.

The rest of this site — text, photographs, and design — belongs to the Housing Corporation. You may read it and share links to it freely. Republishing it commercially requires our permission.

11Other organizations

We link to Sigma Chi International Fraternity, the University of Oklahoma, the White Cross Foundation, and the actives' portal. Those are run by other people under their own terms, and we are not responsible for their content or availability.

Our payment processor and our email and CRM platform likewise operate under their own terms when you deal with them directly.

12Disclaimers

This site is provided as is and as available. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we do not promise every figure on it is current — dues amounts, deadlines, and officers change. Where this site and a document we sent you disagree, the document you signed or the invoice you received governs.

Nothing here is legal, tax, or financial advice.

13Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, the Housing Corporation is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of this site.

This limitation applies to the website. It does not limit any obligation the Housing Corporation owes you under a signed Lease Agreement, and it does not limit anything that cannot be limited by law.

14Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oklahoma, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute goes to the state or federal courts serving Cleveland County, Oklahoma, and both sides consent to that venue.

15Changes

We may update these terms, and the effective date at the top will change when we do. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it. A change to dues, fees, or the refund position will be sent to affected members and parents by email — not left here for you to discover.
